Kristen has extensive experience treating gender dysphoria. Treatment areas include anxiety, depression, women's issues, behavioral problems, perfectionism, grief/loss, and navigating boundaries with family members. During my time in both of these settings I was able to work with a variety of different presenting problems, including anxiety, substance use disorder, depression, and family of origin issues. When seeing clients I like to ensure that their story is getting heard and all interventions provided will fit into my client’s lifestyle. I utilize acceptance and commitment, narrative and cognitive behavioral therapy to aid her client’s to reach the goals that they set for themselves.
I went into counseling to help ensure that people from multiple identities and backgrounds would have a space that they feel comfortable and safe in a counseling environment. Katherine specializes in treating childhood mental health disorders and working with high conflict divorce situations. She has testified in court on numerous occasions as an expert witness and has a passion for advocacy. Katherine provides individual and family therapy to preschoolers, children, adolescents, and adults using primarily cognitive behavioral techniques as well as a client centered approach as she recognizes every individual is unique. Treatment areas include anxiety, ADHD, behavioral problems, depression, divorce (to include high conflict divorce), and parenting skills. She also provides diagnostic evaluations for ADHD.
